If you can get outside of town and away from lights, maybe go out to the ranch or a park, take advantage of the opportunity to see a meteor shower as a result of the “dusty remains of Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle.” The shower should be visible to us tonight after around 10:00 pm.  Texas A&M International University will also be holding a meteor shower viewing event.
TAMIU to hold late-night meteor shower viewing:
The Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium will hold a Perseid meteor shower viewing Thursday.
The viewing is set to run from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the parking lot next to the TAMIU softball field area. The event is free and open to the public. Read more…
