LCC urges new students to sign up for orientation

lccLCC | Jul. 26, 2016

Time is running out to open the door to your future this fall at Laredo Community College. New students are encouraged to sign up for one of the last three mandatory orientation sessions needed to get advised and enrolled for the fall 2016 semester.

The next orientation will be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Kazen Student Center at the Fort McIntosh Campus. Students are encouraged to arrive early in order to secure a seat.

The final two sessions will be held on Friday, Aug. 5 and Wednesday, Aug. 10. Both orientations will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center theater.

These free and informative sessions serve as a relaxed and informal introduction to the Fort McIntosh Campus while providing students the opportunity to meet fellow freshmen and LCC faculty and staff before beginning their time at LCC.

During the orientations, students can get information on financial aid, testing, advisement and enrollment. Participants also will learn about all the support services available to them while at LCC, including the various programs designed to aid in student success.

To ensure a speedy registration process, students should bring their immunization records (with proof of the meningitis vaccine), test scores, and transcripts or letters of completion.

Registration is available online at www.laredo.edu/orientation.
